Meet Lynne

Lynne Garvey-Hodge received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Colorado in 1975 and her Masters of Public Administration with a major in Human Resources from The University of Colorado in 1980.  She completed a Masters In Theology with a focus on Corporate Ethics from Wesley Theological Seminary in 2003.

Her career has included work in a major Fortune 500 organization, developing and presenting management development, organization development and customer service programs and initiatives. She has worked as the Corporate Director of Training and Development for a large east coast retail company and Vice President of an international outplacement and executive coaching firm. For the past 30 years, Lynne has provided extensive organizational consulting to thousands of Employees and hundreds of organizations.

Service Excellence

Lynne’s interest in the neuroscience of leadership, commitment to providing quality service, researching and studying professional research on the work of teams/groups allows her to provide current and relevant support to her clients.  Her work ethic reflects the philosophy of “Service Excellence” inherent in all her consulting opportunities.  Certified in a variety of assessment instruments, she is frequently called upon to use her Emotional Intelligence EQi2.0, Leadership Effectiveness Analysis and Myers-Briggs type Indicator certifications to conduct organizational team building, sales training, customer service initiatives and outplacement career development sessions.

Lynne has designed and conducted such innovative programs as “Quality Service Excellence”,
“The HR Professional as Consultant”, “Gender Differences in the Workplace”, ”Listen, Understand, Communicate, then Deliver” (LUCD) and a cross-cultural diversity awareness program, “We ARE America!”

Her most recent program offering, “Let me Be Me – Leading a Workforce During a Time of Chaos & Change” is now offered at The Hidden Gem off-site retreat center. (The program allows participants to better understand their own hidden biases, the needs of today’s workforce, practice communication skills & scripts that encourage inclusivity, examine examples of healthy organizations and their best practices to meet a demanding customer base and develop action plans for increased workforce productivity and profitability.)

Personal

In addition to her consulting work, Lynne enjoys historic re-enacting.  She sits on the Fairfax County History Commission, and has been an active member since 2000.  Lynne has written a book, “Clifton”  part of Arcadia Publishers “Images of America” series.  She also creates pen & ink, watercolor and calligraphy designs.  Her work has been commissioned and used by George Mason University, the National Capital Presbytery and Burke Presbyterian Church.
